Believing in the presence of God in our midst, we proclaim the sanctity of human life and the dignity of the person by sharing in the Mission of Jesus given to all. To this end, Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi works with individuals, families, and communities to help them meet their needs, address challenges, eliminate oppression, and build a just and compassionate society.
To enable individuals to reach their full potential towards self-sufficiency and
financial independence by developing and implementing supportive services such as job coach and placement, educational components, help develop the capacity to manage their own affairs, make own decisions, and provide for own self.
We place ourselves where the need is the greatest and the resources are the least. That is what makes us different from other providers of social services. We intentionally reach out to the poorest and most vulnerable. We do it by addressing our clients' spiritual, emotional, physical, and financial needs and promote family and individual self-sufficiency. We work to reduce and eliminate poverty, support families, and empower communities. We advocate for social changes that will broaden a person's opportunities for growth and independence.
Providing Help. Creating Hope. Serving All.

With the incredible variety of people of many faiths and beliefs who visit our humble organization, it is our Faith that makes us Catholic Charities.
Established on September 2, 1965 as an official Diocese of Corpus Christi Faith Base and non-profit social services agency; since its inception, Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi continues to represent the charitable work of the Diocese of Corpus Christi. Our various programs focus on assisting and preventing homelessness and hunger, we advocate for justice in social structures, fair and affordable housing, and the disabled. The agency's polices are flexible and attempt to develop programs to meet the needs of the community as they become apparent.
His Excellency, Most Reverend Thomas J. Drury, D.D., LL.D., organized the agency's first Board of Directors naming His Excellency as President. Monsignor William C. Kinlough initiated efforts to develop programs to serve the poor without duplicating services offered in the community. Under the direction of Father Robert Freeman, Catholic volunteers responded to the area-wide tragedy of Hurricane Celia by mobilizing resources and coming to the aid of thousands of families left destitute. In 1971, Father Robert Freeman was named Director of Catholic Charities; under his leadership, in 1987 Catholic Charities moved offices from 1650 South Brownlee to the Monastery building at 1322 Comanche Street. In 2016, we moved to our current home at 615 Oliver Ct.
For the past 58 years, Catholic Charities of Corpus Christi, Inc. has been providing invaluable services to Coastal Bend families. We continue to broaden our services while placing emphasis on programs that reflect the needs of the communities we serve. Program services include Emergency Aid, Catholic Charities-Flour Bluff, Rural Outreach, Self-Sufficiency, Prescription Assistance, Representative Payee Program, Immigration Services, Counseling, Ministry & Life Enrichment for Persons with Disabilities, Parents as Teachers Program, Disaster Response Services, Mother Teresa Shelter, Inc., and Mother Teresa Transitional Housing for Men.
The effectiveness of Catholic Charities' programs is a result of dedicated staff, board members, volunteers, and donors.
