The primary function of the Emergency Aid Program is to offer immediate assistance in emergency situations, providing food, clothing, utility and
rent assistance, bus tokens, and other types of support to individuals in need, regardless of race, gender, or creed.
Additionally, the program extends emergency aid to victims of natural disasters.
Our Emergency Aid office accepts the first (10) ten callers each Monday starting at 7:30 a.m. Please call (361) 884-0651 during that time or call 211 for referrals for support in your area. For your convenience, below is a checklist of all documents needed to see if you may qualify for Emergency Aid.
Choice (Food) Pantry
A Choice Pantry enables clients to choose their own food rather than receiving a pre-packed or standard bag of groceries. This approach allows clients to avoid items they already have, dislike, or cannot eat due to health or personal reasons.
Food Pantry
Our Rural Outreach programs and Food Pantries deliver essential supplies to individuals in rural areas who are facing difficulties, primarily focusing on children and the elderly. These residents often lack reliable transportation, making it challenging to seek assistance. By bringing aid directly to their locations, we ensure they receive the help they need. Our Rural Outreach Programs assist those residing in Corpus Christi and Flour Bluff.
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Do you need help in paying for groceries? SNAP helps individuals buy the food they need for good health. We serve the following counties: Aransas, Bee, Brooks, Duval, Jim Wells, Kenedy, Kleberg, Live Oak, McMullen, Nueces, Refugio, and San Patricio. Click here to learn more about SNAP. For SNAP application assistance, contact Irma Martinez to schedule an appointment at (361) 884-0651, ext. 240.
